Bruce Willis Reveals What's Going On With Die Hard 6
John McClane just cannot catch a break. Ever since the first Die Hard debuted in theaters 30 years ago, Bruce Willis' trademark action hero has found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, and has been forced to save the day on five separate occasions. Now it looks like his odds of a calm and peaceful life have not improved, as it now looks like Die Hard 6 will be right around the corner. During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote the release of Eli Roth's Death Wish, Willis addressed the status of Die Hard 6 and explained:
I'm about to wing out to California to start to see what the script looks like. So, yeah I think so.
We had previously heard reports related to Die Hard 6 and its potential story, but this is the best indication we have received that Bruce Willis is actively working to make it a reality. His next step is to venture out to California like McClane in the opening moments of Die Hard 1 in order to check out the latest draft of the script. This presumably means that he will sign on if he likes what he reads.
On that note, Bruce Willis has now confirmed there's a script for the project, but we likely won't learn much else about it until he opts to move forward and step into the shoes of John McClane once more -- if John gets to wear shoes in this movie, that is. Previous rumors related to the film suggested that it will take the form of a "prequel/sequel hybrid" with a young John McClane story running parallel to Bruce Willis' modern-day McClane, but we will have to wait and see if the latest incarnation of the screenplay has opted to maintain those story elements.

Die Hard 6 is one of those projects that we have heard about periodically over the course of the last five years. A Good Day to Die Hard largely proved unsuccessful with critics, but the franchise as a whole continues to maintain a loyal fan base, and the fifth Die Hard earned roughly $300 million worldwide.
Whether or not the Die Hard 6 script is ready for production remains to be seen, but Bruce Willis makes it sound like the project is very close to moving forward. For now, you can catch the action star as he takes on another beloved action franchise when Death Wish debuts in theaters this weekend on March 2.
